For all the critics of Tito's use of lefty-right-lefty in the lineup, anyone notice Maddon's lineup. Damon is a lefty. Rodriguez is a righty and is batting next, despite batting .205 or so, followed by lefty Kotchman who is batting .314., including .300 against lefties.
But of course we all know that Maddon is a genius.

It is the same thing every game. Sox fall behind early and have to try and play catch up. Our starter gets in high pitch count trouble early on. Same thing , game after game.

With the way the Sox have been playing, I predict they might win a game again in five years.

The difference here is obvious. Shields is pitching with confidence and throwing strikes. Lester is pitching scared and nibbling.

Folks, this season is over. The Rays will catch us. Magic number for the Rays: 18

Hurts to say it , but this looks like a beaten ballclub. If this is not choking , then it is the closest thing to it. Is anyone really surprised that Lester is up over 30 pitches already.

Incredible collapse for a team that had a stretch of something like 60-15 at one point.

Sox have been 100% completely and totally owned by The Rays since 2008, a team with a mere fraction of the payroll, and no one on the Sox is doing a damn thing to turn things around. Just bend over, shut up, and take it. Pathetic. Look at how Madden's players are ready for these match ups vs Francona's.

They are a beaten ball club, no matter what spin they put on it later. Honestly, I think its best that the Rays are the WC, that we complete the choke, and that because we failed to make the playoffs and Epstein wasted so much of he owners' money, he is fired. I really believe that. Something has to be salvaged from this season. There is still enough talent here to form a basis for rebuilding it-as long as the GM had some clue about judging talent.

This team does not need to be rebuilt, they just need to WAKE UP! They are the most talented bunch in the majors. Only thing is they have been napping for two weeks.

Winning this game is no longer my goal
I will consider today a monumental victory today if Crawford can hit the cut off man just once - one time. 142 million dollars for hitting the cut-off man once. Do you guys think he will be able to do that?

Who cares if we have injuries. Is Youk and Buck and Jenks and Drew etc etc - are their injuries responsible for Lester not being able to get anyone out?

Nothing like watching Scott Atchinson pitching 3 innings in a potentially season-saving game. Just where did the 175 million dollars go this year?

Injuries are part of the game. The championship caliber teams overcome the injuries. Sox are being badly outplayed and flat out embarrassed by the Rays.
