Sox should DFA that Pedroia guy. Can't hit and he's too short. -

Baseball 101, never get picked off in middle innings down 3 runs and no outs. Avilies was one of theos dumpster distractions. Aviles offers nothing in talent or smarts. He should be released. -

Where would this team be now without Bedard and Avilles? -

Pedroia needs to take a week off, just to be cautious. -

Meat of Rays order up, and will Theo be the fool who signs Kotchman as an overpiad bench guy off of a career year. -

This goes back to 2008 when all they needed was a Teixeira and then sign Jason Bay but they had to forgo the 2010 season to get AGON and Carl Crawford. It would have been cheaper to sign Bay and Teixeira then AGON and Carl Crawford. Theo outsmarted himself. Then last year he gets good production out of Marinez and Beltre but decides to let both of those guys go for his grand plan and this debacle we are watching which is nothing but a streaky team gone stone cold !!!! -

Tito being cautious with Lester pitch count. Bowden has been lights out. -

The good news is that the Sox head home after today - however things only get worse from there...Jays come in for 2 and the Sox pitch Wake in the first one and Lackey in the second one. Then these same Rays waltz in with their chests puffed out for 4 straight games with the Sox. That will determine where the Sox are going this year. -

Keen an eye on Kotchman, he disrupts the pitcher as a threat to steal. -

Wastefield is overdue for a game with 0 homers 0 WP and 0 BB. Might push his start back to when the team goes to NY. -

Theo 2011: "you say your OBP will be .287 & slugging @ .400?"
CC: "yes"
Theo: "Ya hired, I'll give ya 142 1/2 mil dolluhs for 7 years
& we'll even put you in the 7-hole when you're healthy"
CC: "Really, wow, I'll take the money" -

If Tito puts Bowden in a game he has given up the game. Better to rest Lester for when he is playing golf in October. -

I make fun of the perpetual optmimists because sometimes they are just way over the top and often cannot fairly offer analysis with any objective opinion as these optimists seem to be bent on producing positive spin as opposed to what is real. However, I have to say this Sox team is not done and they are going to the playoffs, they may not win it all and they are certainly not the juggernaut they were advertised as but they are going to the postseason and I think people are panicking too quickly. -

The Rays don't have a single position player that would start for the Sox or the Yankees (including Longoria assuming Youk healthy). Of course their entire pitching staff would start for both clubs. -

This Tampa Bay pitching staff shut down this team and made them look like a bunch of overpayed chumps. This game is over unfortunately, lack of timely hitting and a hungrier club. The Red Sox do not deserve to be in the playoffs the way they are playing and the way they started the season. Now its up to Wakefield and Lackey to save it from becoming 1 1/2 games from a manager who knows their pitching staff real well (Farrell). -

The red sox have a chemistry issue. If not addressed next will be like this year.Tampa finds hungry young talent and knows how to win with it. We emulate the Yankees but also combine it with the the country club atmosphere of the old Red Sox teams. -

I have a feeling that pitchers are taking revenge for the lack of run support started a few weeks ago. Why should they pitch gems when the bums can not score runs? -
