Wonder who will be odd man out when Dice K returns...thought it may be Buch but he did well his last start and Bard still has value in the bullpen.

My guess would be Buch misses a start so they can see what Dice does.

Good to blow this one open. Give Aceves and Padilla a breather. Finish up with Albers.

A couple of observations : As the season progresses , I think Bard and Doubront will be able to control the pitch count and go deeper in games. Even as it is , they are currently our best starters. It would be nice to see Beckett and Buchholz go six with just one run. Even Lester.  Also , it seems like the callups , Middlebrooks and Nava have provided a spark to the team . I know that Nava is no longer considered a young prospect , but it so much better to see him in there than a shopworn veteran like Byrd.  I would say that Iglesias might be next.

I agree but does Iggy start? And if so, what do you do with Avilles?

Iglesias has been doing well offensively. Put Aviles in the OF to keep his bat in the lineup

Aviles is a ballplayer. I like him. He should definitely have a role on the team. His versatility is a big plus.

One more thing : Nice to see the crowd applauding DLowe and , finally , Damon.  We should never forget what the " idiots " accomplished in 2004.

he played OF in the winter leagues this past offseason. thats it as far as i know.. and iggy has only just begun to start hitting in AAA. lets wait and see if he can keep it up before we put an inexperienced OF'er in an already shaky outfield..
