Next batter double hit a double. Tito hooks wakefield. Does everyone agree? Cat got your tongue?

Francona needs to have someone warming up now, before Bard begins to pitch.
Did Francona ask Wake how he felt?

Nice job, Wake.  I'd have liked to have seen him finish the inning with that low pitch count, but the Cubs were starting to tee off.

thats the problem. i'm always a genius until i bet. assumed wake would win as well. now he may get another no-decision. when was the last time wake won a game?  well, 6+innings and a quality start is more than most people would have voted for. not bad. aceves and wake are better than lackey-dice. that was my theory anyways. we just better win this game!

Somehow Bosox1941 will come in and complain about the hook. We all know that right? Is everyone happy that Bard is in?

life of the knuckleballer. best to have a quick hook with those guys! when they lose it they lose it. when they have it, they are on. not much middlw ground with then.

I let him go till he gives up 1 run.  I would have someone up in the pen ready for the 7th and 8th.

To bad Terry didn't listen to me last night when I was screaming at my computer to yank Albers.  I live in NY so I had to watch ESPN's Game Cast.

Not me. I've been one of Oritz's vocal supporters ever since I've been on this board. And going into this year, I said you have to give him a chance early against lefties to see if he really lost it. He talked in the offseason about how his approach against lefties got messed up and how he was working on it, so considering he used to be good against lefties, I said he needed to be given the chance. If he still struggled, then start sitting him.

It's almost no fair to make a team go from facing a 63 mph knuckleball to facing a 96-98 mph nasty fastball.

It's got to be tough on the hitters going from someone like Wake to someone who throws 98.
