What kind of fans cheer the physical misfortunes of competitors ?
To BE the best, one has to BEAT the best. Without the seasoning and tempering of a tough division race, how can a team expect to prevail in the post-season ?
It's similiar to some political thinking........most conservatives don't HATE liberals, we just pity their naive lack of critical thinking, and yet many liberals HATE conservatives as being evil.
Whereas a sound reasoned argument or analysis can reveal which policies actually work.

Wowzersss...Now, if the PED thing actually happens and Cano, Granderson and Arod are suspended for 50 games theline up will look something like this...
C- C.Stewart/Cervelli/Romine
1b- Youk/D.Johnson
2b- Nunez/Nix
ss- DJ
3b- Nix/Nunez
Lf- Riviera/Diaz
CF- Gardner
RF- Suzuki/Diaz
Thats not exactly the bronx bombers...This could get really ugly.

I've always disdained the Yankees, but have great respect for how they approach the business of professional baseball. From adversity comes opportunity to display character. I have not written the 2013 Yankees off, as far as playoff contenders.

Liberals or democrats to be more exact dont need your pity.... in case you hadnt notice there clueless the democrats (without critical thinking) have managed to kick the conservative movement in the a r s e for the last two elections.... what does that say about your crtitical thinking.....hahaha -

"Teixeira has been diagnosed with a tear in his scapholunate ligament and will require an extended period of immobilization. He will be re-evaluated in eight weeks. There is currently no time-table for his return."
Woohoo!
No need to celebrate this.... its classless! -

Their approach is to overpay and your way to top, how can you hold that belief and hate spending. -

I don't celebrate this news either. I would rather beat the Yankees when they are on their game. This is unfortunate for any player.
Gotta wonder if they move Youk to first and Jeter to third. I know it is heresy, but Jeter can play third while recovering his mobility, and hopefully they have a good glove with better range at short.
162 games is a long season. I am sure that there will be many nagging injuries to go around. -

For years I have been saying the Yanks are old and ready to decline. I'm not saying anything this year...

Thats not exactly the PawSox. Other then 39 year old Derek Jeter and Brett Gardner, I wouldn't want any of those guys ever hitting for the Red Sox. If that team didn't play in an extreme hitters park, they would struggle to score 2 runs a game.
Now put Cano-Granderson-Tex back in and they would be fine.

all those years of cheating are finally catching up to the yanks, not to mention buying championships. its never good when a player gets injured, nor would I would I ever wish an injury on someone, this is just pure karma. Now texiera is one of the players i dislike the most in the mlb, so its good to know that he will not be helping the yanks and hurting us for awhile.

The Yankees are aging.
Aging, and with bones brittle as plaster of paris.
Aging, and with ligaments supple as dried rubber bands.

The Yankees were certainly due a visit from the injury bug we had last year. With their age they should have expected it sooner rather than later. I would think this would be enough to knock them well back in the division, but they have weather this type storm before.
