The Yankees were certainly due a visit from the injury bug we had last year. With their age they should have expected it sooner rather than later. I would think this would be enough to knock them well back in the division, but they have weather this type storm before.

As a Yankee fan I don't expect any sympathy from any fanbase nor do I feel any for any other team when players are injured it's just part of the game..
The Yankees will deal with them and move on.
I can understand the Schadenfeude here.

there are rumors that granderson, Cano and A-roid all failed a test and will get a 50 game ban. Hasn't been confirmed yet though..

hey SP, i'd have to go with mef's choice, Youk at 1st, probably Nunie at third, but the wrench in those works could be Jeter's readiness and the possibility of having to put Nunie at ss....this situation was the beauty of having Swish to fill in...this is gonna be rough.. not that he doesn't, but Cash will surely have to earn his coin this season...

Heard on the radio today that of the Yankees' top 10 home run hitters in 2012, eight are either on the DL or with another team.

Bojo, since my 2013 Red Sox budget was 110 to 120M, you are out to lunch. I don't mind spending, it's how much and who it is spent on. The Red Sox can't compete with the Yankees, on revenue. Thus, the markets are different. The Red Sox have to be better managed than the Yankees. The Yankees, despite some bad contracts, have had far better management than the Red Sox. It is reflected in the AL East standing every year.

Proclaming a Yankee demise is a bit premature. Many of us will have egg on our faces if they finish above the Red Sox in spite of their setbacks. Now, if they finish like the Red Sox did last season, party at Smiley's. There will be cake and ice cream (both food and poster). Shirts are optional.

Tex back in mid May is hardly a big deal. Most players of his caliber blow in April anyway. He can easily have an explosive summer making you wonder if he had ever even hit the DL.

all those years of cheating are finally catching up to the yanks, not to mention buying championships. its never good when a player gets injured, nor would I would I ever wish an injury on someone, this is just pure karma. Now texiera is one of the players i dislike the most in the mlb, so its good to know that he will not be helping the yanks and hurting us for awhile.
