    I'm amazed that Zac and NHSteven seem to lose their sense of humor, when the subject is the Yankkess...

     



    I guess that means if I ribbed the RS U would be OK with it? And how do you know I wasn't partly ribbing back and you fell for it hook line & sinker? And how do I know there's more to your commentary than just a reflection of the comedic? It certainly seems that there is.

    I guess you missed my movie thread.  I wrote a script, and assigned posters to characters & famous actors. It got a big response, and resulted in others generating similar threads. I also participated and/or created other similar threads (Rubber Room, New BB Rules, Wakefield parodies); I can't help that if you missed it, or, are possibly inarticulate in your attempt to reach for sarcasm.What you should have said is: 

     

    From what I've seen, You've never displayed much of a sense of humor.

    It's just that the "Stop picking on my Yankees" posts get old, after a while.

     

    I know you'd be much happier if posters here simply stuck with ripping the Sox.

    I'm sure that provides you with hours of entertainment.

    But, occasionally, the Yankee are in the news...

     



    Disagree. It's one thing to talk about the NYY in the news, where they are clearly a mess. And other posters shall respond. It's a slightly different kettle of fish to critique the responding posters, with an air of sarcasm, then double talk via circular reasoning back to the original issue when called out on it or otherwise convenient. Not that I'm blame free, of course; and neither are you.

    Any thought on what theyre going to do with Tex out...Youk at 1b? Nix/Nunez at 3rd? Or maybe a trade?

     

     hey SP, i'd have to go with mef's choice, Youk at 1st, probably Nunie at third, but the wrench in those works could be Jeter's readiness and the possibility of having to put Nunie at ss....this situation was the beauty of having Swish to fill in...this is gonna be rough.. not that he doesn't, but Cash will surely have to earn his coin this season... 


     




    Thats what I was thinking too. Jason Nix can play 3rd or 2b as well I believe.

    What kind of fans cheer the physical misfortunes of competitors ?

    To BE the best, one has to BEAT the best. Without the seasoning and tempering of a tough division race, how can a team expect to prevail in the post-season ?

    It's similiar to some political thinking........most conservatives don't HATE liberals, we just pity their naive lack of critical thinking, and yet many liberals HATE conservatives as being evil.

    Whereas a sound reasoned argument or analysis can reveal  which policies actually work.

     




     

    U mean like women's bodies, global warming, the Earth being 6000 yrs old & science in general?


    Believe it or not, many conservatives are pro-choice, rational scientific thinkers who understand physics and cosmology. Just as not all liberals wholeheartedly accept Marxism , planned economies , speech codes  or " nanny-state totalitarianism ".

    Re; global warming : rigorous examination of the facts suggests this is still unproven and very much open for debate.

    I think that the assumption that Teixeira will be out 8-10 weeks and then return to mash the ball is smiley-beni like optimism in a Yankee uniform.  If I were a Yankees fan I would be very concerned that the wrist injury plagues Teixeira all season long, and possibly becomes a career altering injry (as many wrist injuries are).  And it is not like he Teixeira hasn't been on a continuous slide in offensive prowess since coming to NY.

    I have the concern with Middlebrooks, and he is a lot younger.

    They were never really a small ball team of late but they may be forced to play that way with all the injuries they have suffered so far.

     

    Also, what about your beloved "Big Papi" and his achilles heel problem.  May be time for him to call it quits or give one of Arod's doctors a quick call :D

    Could very well be.

    Wrist problems have a tendency to linger.

    Bautista had a similar injury as did Gardner, neither completely healed the season it occurred.
