Trade Ellsbury and Bailey and Carp to the Rangers for Moreland and their top prospect. Put Bradley in CF, put Nava in LF, Shane in RF, Napoli at 1st and use Moreland and Gomes in the DH slot. If Ortiz ever gets fit enough to return as the DH, use Moreland and Gomes as pinch hitters for Iglesias, Nava, Bradley, Shane, Ross and Salty.
Red Sox management is foolish to not make the weaker splits hitters and hitters with little power as occassional pinch hitter slots. Shane has little power and is weak on one side, ditto on Nava, Iglesias is a true SS so he's a weak hitter with no power, and Bradley isn't likely to have much power for a park like Fenway (see Ellsbury average power per year numbers from 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012), Ross is a weak overall bat, and Salty is weak on one side.
Egos should not be a part of decisions on pinch hitters.
...and there's a thing called "platooning".
he has no idea how it works. just look at his proposterous claims to "platoon" Gomes AND Shane in LF. TOGETHER!!
how dumb is that? as Geo would say, BEYOND DUMB!
