Boras may have gotten some nuts out of the Drew deal but all the Sox got were the shells.

    Wow.

Looks like some fans will be disappointed if Drew is getting hot.

Cheer up, there are plenty of other Sox players to pizz and moan about.

If Drew gets hot--the Tigers may need a reliable SS who is starting to hit. The Motor City may still be a landing spot with a good prospect in return. Marrero has another two weeks to be ready for a call up to be the future Sox SS.

no, I think he gets a free pass because he has 3584 major league at bats and only a fool would judge him on his past 60.

People are so odd on this board. It isn't "magic" that the guy has a career OPS of 760.

While I will state no player is untradeable, I hope the Sox don't waste time unloading contracts like Drew and instead try to move deals like Peavy and Miller that could potentially bring back something that might be useful in 2015 and beyond.

What's the point in trading Drew?  So fans can focus their anger on a different player for the rest of the season?

It's irrelevant. They didn't need him and still don't. 9 games behind in WC and 8 in division. If I'm not mistaken, the HR's he hit yesterday (and those were his only hits) produced a split.

    Yay!

This may be over your head, but if Drew manages to do well enough to get "his next contract", that's good for the Sox.

I'm happy he hit 2 jacks but again terrible, terrible first 65 PA, so like Nava, he's in catchup mode. Holt the one guy who joined the team to hit not to slump. It was Drew's ST, right? Who sat out for money?

To force people not to shift. There are two camps never bunt and give up the at bats or bunt until they stop shifting. It appears Drew isn't below bunting. If more people bunted on the shift it would go be back to only being used against lefty pull hitting power hitters.

This just in. Because of the sudden increase in the blind squirrel population, doctors have perfected cornea transplants for blind squirrels. As one doctor put it, within 4 years there won't be a blind squirrel on the planet.

So let's say Drew, by some miracle, keeps hitting and reaches .250 to .275 and Nava keeps hitting and bats about the same. Drew becomes a FA and BenC tries to resign him and has to go 3 years at $10 per--you don't think the fans won't revolt with three other potential SS in the fold already?

General consensus, Drew should not have been resigned!!! So you want this last place team to be the audition site for Drew and Nava? Not me. Trade Drew to anybody. DFA Nava.

If you don't send Xman to AAA put him in LF he is jet not an infielder, at least not this year,--or his batting deficiencies are so troublesome they are impacting his fielding.

Why wouldn't you get rid of him if someone is willing to pay a little of his salary? Is he in the plans for next year? Why not allow Bogaerts to move back to SS?
