Then the game will be called, it's already official. It won't rain all night, it'll stop. I wish hurricane irene were here TODAY instead of a month ago.

According to Weather Channel radar 6 hour forcast, rain is heavy and may not clear until about midnight.

I doubt they will fire Theo even though the blame rests on his shoulders. I think what screwed that up was the rediculous money that the Washington National paid to Werth.  I think they were interested in him and he was off the market quick.

[QUOTE]so let's see Tito is pitching, Tito is batting and that is why they keep losing.....come on guys, this is not Tito's fault....this team (that I love) just has not been delivering....where is the blame on Theo in this mess....he signed Crawford

AJ Burnett pitches to one batter and gets a routine ground out.  Burnett was then pulled and Andrew Brackman (all 6'11" of him) is entering to pitch remainder of inning.

I'd really rather win it outright, but if that's the only way we can win it--if we're going to blow if the rain stops--bring on the rain.

Does anyone know the scenario if Texas and Detroit finish with the same record? What is the tie breaker to see who plays the wild card winner?  Head to head record? Who wins that ?

Evening all, just got here. This totally stinks, doubtful we'll have Lester anymore. Will have to go with ... who?

Oh, and did I read it wrong, or was Tito being blamed for Ortiz trying to stretch a single into a double?

Yeah, looking at the radar, that sounds about right, but that's only 2 hours away. They'll definitely wait that long dawg. Sad but true. Wish it was 11-2.

MLB would want to finish this game no matter what, given the magnitude.  Won't be fair to the Rays.

On the flip side, won't be fair to Sox to play late into the night, and turnaround at Tampa for the playoff.  May be they should make the Rays come to Baltimore for the playoff if Sox lose.

After that impressive performance AJ Burnett should be more than ready for the playoffs.

Nunez bobbles ground ball that would have ended the inning, putting Upton on first.  Brackman then walks Longoria on four pitches.  Girardi pulls Brackman to go after lefty Matt Joyce.
