Despite hearing that the Evil Empire wants to change their sick ways of outspending all their opponents and finally get under the 2014 salary cap threshold of $189,000,000.00, we have today's news:
"Major League Baseball sent a revised accounting to the Yankees Tuesday, raising New York's payment to $19,311,642 from $18,917,994. New York is the only team to pay the luxury tax this year. The Yankees' final payroll for luxury tax purposes climbed from $222.5 million to $223.4 million. The Yankees pay at a 42.5 percent rate on the amount over the $178 million threshold."
The ONLY TEAM that was in default of the guidelines.....sort of like having The Boss still occupying the big desk,eh? Well - good thing they didn't waste all that money and went out and brought home the hardware.....wait - never mind!
