Well...I'm kind of a night-owl anyway...I don't normally hit the hay until around one or two in the morning on a regular night....

...plus I had the game on the radio and my daughter and I were playing Castlevania: Judgement....

Anyone think we see Wakefield in Dice K's (or some other SP) spot vs. the Twinkies?

I hear ya, Soxcat!  Oy!  Well...at least we swept the Halos at their home!

Yeah...guess that's not much comfort during games like this.......

Maybe....Matsuzaka didn't pitch a whole lot last night....might have him on a short leash and Wake around for backup.....

I can actually write off todays game as okay, if they took the game last night which they should have. The thing that upsets me is that I know Francona is a good manager, but in close games he is too loyal to his players. Letting Varitek hit against a guy that throws 98-100 MPH was rediculous. He is hitting .147 and struck out so feebaly it was sad. In the later innings he let Cameron hit who for a guy that big is one of the softest hitters I have ever seen. I just find Francona in a close game is too loyal to his players and does not know how to play small ball.

Another thing is to say that the way this team is playing is a disappointment is an understatement. They get within one game ofg 500 and then fall back again. This team provides some excitement but no consistency and I am wondering if this is going to be like this all year.

OK, I've got it figured out....all we need to do is get 6 runs this inning, and 6 runs the next inning...that's one GS and a two run shot each inning!  Or two three run shots.....

    ...it's a great plan!!  It'll work!

Oh, fine..they can just make it difficult for themselves and score 12 runs in the bottom of the 9th.....

    It's still a good plan....

blah blah blah.  they win:  oh, they finally played with a sense of urgency.  they lose:  no sense of urgency.  You have no idea the level of urgency they are playing with.

I think they can still do it Yoshimi.  I read this Bradbury short story once.  Dude went back in time, stepped on an ant, changed the whole future.  If we could just go back and upset the right blade of grass, maybe they would never have signed Lackey and today would be a different story.  Here's hoping.

Was it an ant or was it a butterfly?  I remember the butterfly.  It changed an election.

I like that idea, Spaceman!   I can astral-project to my past self and tell her to smash a bug when she's in Boston.....should fix everything!

...I'll just need to find a quick internet crash-course on astral projecting and we'll be all set!

We should probably figure it out...I'll need to know what to tell Past Yoshimi - smash a small bug or a big bug....

Really? How many stupid plays and bad decisions have they made this season?  You don't make stupid plays when you DESPERATELY need to manage every out and every play to give you the best chance to win so you could get to .500 ball and out of the basement before memorial day weekend.........

No, you don't have to smash a bug!  In keeping to a non violent manner, you could save a bug!  It should work both ways!   LOL!
