The perfect future Red Sox player?

    Got to love the name.

    From yahoo.com:

When the calendar turns to February, our anticipation reaches a whole new level because we not only know meaningful baseball activity is right around the corner, but games that actually count won’t be too far behind.

Of course that increased anticipation also leads us to crave for any and all baseball news and information we can dig up, which can lead to some odd or interesting discoveries.

I believe it was with that mentality (or at least I hope) that the following tidbit was uncovered on Friday.

According to the baseball scouting website Perfect Game, there’s a solid high school infielder from Boca Raton, FL who is working his way up the prospect ranks and seems to have a good future ahead of him. Now, obviously that part isn‘t noteworthy, but the fact his given name is Fenway Parks certainly is.

That’s right. First name: Fenway. Last name: Parks.

As Carson Cistulli of Notgraphs notes, his name would probably qualify as the most difficult baseball name to search for on the internet. But hey, at least he is excelling at the correct sport and not tennis or swimming.

(Perfect Game)According to his bio, Parks earned honorable mention on Perfect Game's underclassmen All-Americans list, which is very impressive. It also notes he's considering prominent schools such as North Carolina and Nebraska for his collegiate ball. There's even some video available on the site and I must say his swing looks good as is, and could really be dangerous with more development.

Based on that information and the videos, it seems somewhat likely Fenway Parks is name we'll hear again in the future, perhaps during the MLB draft. And assuming that day comes, it will be mighty interesting to see if his progression ever leads him to playing at the park he's clearly named for, whether as a Red Sox player or as a foe.

U don't think his parents named him Fenway by design?

I hear the better prospects are the younger brothers, Miller and Marlins.

Apparently there are also two sisters named Comerica and Minute Maid...
