The Red Sox have a worse record than the Padres

How does that feel Ben? After watching Scott Carroll shut out your team, do you believe this team will contend? Even if you think so, start dumping the bad pieces now. They aren't helping. Gomes, AJ, Peavy, Badenhop. Get what you can now.

    The chemistry isn't work.

    The players aren't working.

    Why keep it status quo?

    The chemistry isn't work.

Most teams right looking for pitchings.  Boston do have pitchers to give away, but half of them have big fat contract.  IF you give away Peavy, you are not going to get top prospect in return unless Boston will eat up most of his salary.  Or if you want a good hitting young OF, then you got to part away couple good prospects!!!

    That is the problem.

Who cares? Give Peavy away. He won't be here next year and it would be better to see De La Rosa or Renaudo every 5th day, wouldn't it? What do you gain by starting Peavy anymore at this point?

I would be happy seeing my grandmother out there on the mound if we could get someone of value for Peavy. Losing more games this year is not a bad thing necessarily. Its probably best for the franchise, though some will not admit it. I am not suggesting they tank intentionally, just that the #4 pick is better than the #10 pick more than likely.

Tank it.  Don't let Houston or the D'backs get that pick.  Who cares what "level of stink" a team is at if it already stinks….If they are 4-5 games ahead of the worst record come September, drop 'em all.

I've never been for tanking it to get a draft pick, and this isn't the NBA, but at this point, it wouldn't upset me if we traded our free agents to be, and we ended up with a top 3 pick.

I mean is anyone gonna feel a whole lot better about being 72-90-vs 62-100?

For what it's worth, the San Diego Padres have won two National League titles and five NL West titles.

The Padres have never won a World Series title, but are vying to finish with a better record than the Red Sox for the second time in three years.
