Wasn't ADG the one starting threads all 2012 covering each homer that Reddick hit?

We have our right fielder, Shane Victorino. God help us in 2013.

This is top-notch stuff. Take a look at the opinions. They are the same as they are today. The same posters (to the extent they posted) that hate all of our current players, hated Reddick. And more importantly, as it concerns the future of America, all the posters who are innumerates, hated Reddick. All the posters for whom 2 weeks is a substantial sample size, hated Reddick. All the posters that don't understand the idea of a rookie year, hated Reddick.
All the posters that said his numbers were okay for a rookie, or mentioned cost, or cautioned on sample size, were basically right.

And FWIW, I love people digging up the old posts, especially on the more important topics. I like to read my opinions to see how close/off I was. -

Hey Joe. I brought back a total of four old theads. This one and the one on extending Ellesnury are very good to read.... and relevant. The other two I bumped were a bit weaker.
Not that you migth agree with me but my thread on "5's" was and is very true.
Happy New Year to you.

I read a little of the 5 good pitchers, but that is a little more subjective. On this thread, it shows the lack of depth in people's thinking. The haters were bashing the guy, despite not even having one full season, and despite having a .784 during the year, with good fielding, at minimum wage. I'm not even a Reddick fan, but that's a really impressive first semi-full year.

One of the few posts on this thread without a lot of hyperbole. Reddick is a ML player, I think he has proven that. But yeah offensively I see a guy that could start in a small market team and hit 250-260 and hit 15 to 20 homers. I also see a guy who on a bad year would hit 230 with 12 homers. He simply isn't the long term answer. Kalish will beat him out next year regardless. Snake 2011
So Snake you weren't high on JR in 2011. He goes out and smashes your expectations becoming the 5th best RF in MLB for 2012, and then you call him average. I think a mea culpa is in order.

In response to EdithBRTN's comment:
What is the conflict all about here. Most fans of RSN are / were glad to see Reddick do so well last year at Oakland. Most fans at the time agreed with trading him for Bailey since Papelbon had left ( too expensive ) and there was a dire need for a closer. What's the beef?
I don't get it either. -

And Zac swoops in to help ADG. Even he knows he's not a Sox fan and, therefore, deserves his support. lol -

Phil Plantier had a bigger upside than Reddick, produced better than Reddick offensively. He didn't last too long, neither will Reddick..unless it is as a utility outfielder. That's his Ike Forte. DannyCater
Thought I should save this one.
