can you imagine if they did actually agree to a contract for any length of time bsed on the 13mil?

as soon as he became injured (which he has done as much as hit homers) there would be a huge, why the fudge did we sign this guy for so much money?

13mil would make him a very well paid player..

arent you guys so grateful Ben kept the "slot money/pick" available by paying MN15 mil more than LaRouche signed for?

    FIASCO

Paying for Napoli with the pontential of him being hurt is much better than giving up the draft pool money that would be lost with LaRoche. That would really limit this years draft.

What will happen first?  Napoli's contract with the Red Sox FINALLY being official or the Patriots winning this year's Super Bowl?  I pick the Patriots.  LOL

But, if you lose a pick and the money that goes with it, does it really restrict us that much beyond just the pick we lose?

I guess some of us are just negative haters when we give logic for not signing this sub-par player. A postive fan wants Napoli here because of his great Fenway numbers, based off a whopping 72 AB's.  O man

The "positive fan" wanted Lackey, Crawford, and now Napoli all because of a few good games against us over the years.... baseball isn't a few games a year! It is 162 games a year.

napoli is the next JD Drew..thats why FourB's says we should sign him and not fear this protracted nonsense...

this is a crazy idea but ben/Bootlickers, if MN has the makings of a very serious hip injury, why not just pass on him and sign someone healthier?

The reason to be negative is clear.

The front office hasn't done much to make us feel positive.

The Red Sox got lucky in the past with a few players who had their 15 minutes of fame at the right time ( Dave Roberts, Mark Bellhorn, and Kevin Millar).

They continue to search for the next Millar.

Every team gets lucky with those types of players, occasionally.

Look at Scutaro for the Giants and Ibanez for the Yankees.
