The Twins under Gardenhire vs. the Yankees - unbelievable

Well, I knew it was bad.  But until you pull up the actual numbers you don't realize what a mind-blower it really is.

Some of you may even disbelieve that these are the real numbers.  But they are, God help us, they are.

    (Since 2002)

    Regular season
    W-L 21-58
    RS-RA 302-443

    Postseason
    W-L 2-12
    RS-RA 36-69

    Total
    W-L 23-70 (.247)
    RS-RA 338-512 (-174)

Let that sink in...23 wins and a minus 174 differential in 93 games.

Death , taxes and the Twins rolling over for the Yankees.  Sure things.

I"d like to see the numbers the RS had against any KC Royals teams back in the 70's. The Royals seemed to win every game in every way imaginable. I hated the Royals back then

Think SLOW! The present day Twins are lousy because they are a team even slower than slow. Ex: To date, the Twins have 9 triples, the Sox have 23.

To date, the Twins have 26 stolen bases, the Red Sox have 66.

Speed is the most under rated quality in baseball. It's factor on defense almost as much as it's a factor on offense. After the first inning, the RS have Iglesius, Ellsbury, Victorino and Pedroia; back to back to back.

This team is winning because of its pitching and its speed.

Why would I not think these numbers are real?

The Twins have stunk even since before 2002. The days of Hrbek, Gaetti, Viola and Puckett are long gone.

I wonder if they even have an above .500 record vs. the other longtime stinky central team , the Royals.

They were good enough to play 14 post season games against the Yankees.

So just saying they stink, isn't really saying anything.

When you let guys go for little return like Johan Santana when he was in his prime, for Carlos Gomez who they also traded, Joe Nathan, Kyle Lohse, Francisco Liriano, R.A Dickey, Nick Punto, Mike Cuddyer, Torri Hunter, David Ortiz to name a few it catches up.

The Twins seem like they are always in the rebuilding mode.
