[QUOTE]no matter how well the team played this year we just could not get more than a 2 or 3 game lead on NY, and here we are 4 back all of a sudden. I cannot stand the Yankees.

Lucky the Yanks were losing when the Red Sox were this week, otherwise would be looking at 6 or 7 games back.

Lucky the Yanks didn't play .500 ball against the Red Sox, othewise could be looking at a double-digit hole....

A long ways away from the prognostications of a run-away season....

The only good news of an epic collapse would be if Inespstein ends up de facto fired.

It's a disgrace that he was ever allowed back in the first place. He doesn't belong in baseball. He's the worst judge of talent we've ever seen.

[QUOTE]That is right about what should Theo say.  Look at Joe Maddon of Tampa Bay who have already mouthed off about that Tampa will take over Boston for the wildcard spot.  Now it is Boston turn to counter mouth off back to Tampa Bay about they are not going to fold. Someone got to speak up and try to motivate Boston's team. This is nothing wrong for Theo or Henry or etc speaking up for the team. Now tonite is the start for the team to wake up and start winning ball games to clinch the playoff spot asap!!! Go Red Sox!!

Big difference between a manager speaking up and a GM speaking up.

Wow. That writer is horrible. "the collapse"? A lot of things have to happen in the next 2+ weeks in order to put such a defining label on "it". Let's just say that it's a little premature to actually call it anything. Hold your horses, guy. Another thing: Boston's pitching staff has been slowly evolving, all year, into an unhealthy state. Is he finally just catching up with this news? I scrolled down to the previous article and here he is worshiping the worst player on Yankees, maybe the worst player in NY overall.

And how is a 4 game lead "Comfortable" but a 3 game lead a "Collapse"?
