    Theo left a huge Mess.

Theo has emerged winner from this Sox mess.He got all the credit but never got any blame during his tenure as Sox GM.

You can blame ownership and Bobby all you want but the sad state of affairs is due one man only.

He overpaid Crawford, Lackey among many others. But he was not willing to pay Papelbon who has not only proven he could handle Boston and be very good at it too.

I have no idea which sabermetics showed him that  guy likes Crawford, Lackey and Drew are worth the money they got but Papelbon was not worth what he got from Phillies.

Closers are bound to blow some huge games even greatest closer MO has blown some huge games but to hold that against Papelbon was wrong.

Theo has washed his hands off but Sox are reeling from his foolish decisions.

absolutely correct, he saw what was coming and couldnt leg it fast enough to chicago.

dont forget he gave jenks 2/12m or something alongside the mega money for those you mention.

nonetheless the winter was a disaster - exacerbated an already bad situation...we now have possibly the most unbalanced roster in the american league, not to mention the worst bullpen.

its ok, marlon byrd is due at logan shortly

And it's a gift that will keep on giving for years to come. Imagine our team today with Roy Halliday instead of Lackey, and then remember that the reason we aren't enjoying it today is because of Theo. You'll probably be as mad about it as I am.

On the other hand, the compensation from the Cubs was commensurate with Theo's performance since 2007. Maybe we should have gotten less.

Re: Theo left a huge Mess.

That Inside the collpase article which was one of main reasons leading to Tito's dismisal portrays francona as an inept manager but never focusses on Theo's abosulte mishandling of resources which very few GMs have at their dispossal.

My biggest beef with media is Theo got all the lime light for breaking the curse in 2004  and Francona never got his due for that great managing he did during his tenure.

Media never accepted Francona as great manager and was always questioning his every move while giving a pass to all bad deals which Theo made.

Whats more astonshing is Theo not only walked away scott free from the mess he got more money and power with Cubs. The boston media is mainly responsible for not putting any blame on Theo and him washing his hands off without any consequences.

The biggest losers in this mess are fans and Tito.

I want to know where all the Theo supports are

Where are all the Beckett and Lester supportors

    Bobby V supportors

    Bard as a starter supportors

    Crawford will bounce back supportors

    Bobby Jenks supportors

    Adrian Gonzelez supportors

    Aceves as the closer supportors

Mark Melacon as the closer or primary set up man supportors

    Our bench is great supportors

My guess is they are still working hard on trying to find a thread of evidence that DJ Drew was worth "a tick above 70 million" ...........
