I ALSO LIKE MILLER IN THE ROTATION OVER WAKE AT THIS POINT.
SEE IF WE CAN GET HIM READY FOR POSTSEASON. more reliable than wake to allow fewer runs.

Guess you never actually watch the Red Sox, but just an FYI....  Albers has been GREAT for us this season....

    Albers has 42 appearances:
    31 with 0 ERs
    8 with 1 ER
    1 with 3 ERs
    2 with 5 ERs

The troublesome thing is that the 3 ER game and one of the 5 ER games have come back-to-back following 5 games that had 3 of his 8 one ER games.

    First 35 games:
    29 games with 0 ERs
    5 games with 1 ER
    1 game with 5 ERs

    Last 7 games:
    2 games with 0 ERs
    3 games with 1 ER
    1 game with 3 ERs
    1 game with 5 Ers

Albers is slipping, no doubt.  Maybe he's tired.  Funny thing is, he has pitched fewer games and innings than Bard.  He is, however, carrying an extra 50 pounds when he pitches.

He just gave a very humbling retort on this postgame interview. Have of the Yankee fans closeted or not heard of any statements tonight from AJ Burnett. Why does a group of Yankee fans come here and not be objective and impartial because isn't that what they preach? What say you Harness and Moonslav?

AJ has been god awful and he barked at Girardi when he took him out of game, which he obviously shouldn't have.

Mikey has reverted to his GOOD COP routine. Search his history to see him in the exact opposite as BAD COP. He is a chamelion. He could be a simple troll and could also be a plant in the BDC office. You decide. Anyway he is not worth your time,

I say Amen to that.  Albers needs some time off, his stuff has nothing on it, no movement at all.  Let him work it out somewhere other than in meaningful games.

And why has Wheeler been in the doghouse Albers SHOULD be in?  He has been EXTREMELY effective since coming off the DL.  But let's not pay attention to what players are currently doing, let's only consider what they did from April to June.  This is a game the Sox should have won.

I have trouble believeing that if the knuckler pitched the entire game that he would have surrendered more than 5 runs...but he was removed, "I'm sure at Tim's request so we could assure #200, wink, wink"...to bring in a bull pen which has been used constantly after 5-6 innings for far too lon this season.

Albers is having a fluke year. He's coming back to reality after providing outstanding service for a long stretch of this season. He needs some serious timeout. But let's not pretend that Albers not being able to stop a Wakefield ignited doubles derby is the real issue.

This is what needs to be addressed, not this long overriding fear,  to a religious extent, of Tim Wakefield

No, it's not about religous extent. What needs to be addressed is why on earth a 45 year old bald headed paunched goofball pitcher with a 5 plus ERA over 2 years is starting games in the stretch run of an AL homefield race.

Who cares about his 10th attempt at 200 wins. Get him to AAA and let him pick it  up over there.

Miller is more reliable than Wakefield?

Based on what?  This weekend and complete absolution for his previous five starts, then maybe.  Beyond that this post is nothing more than bias...

Re: time to put ALBERS ON THE SHELF maybe AAA

Wakefield in reality has pitched well enough to win all of the last 5 starts if he got a little luck, more offense, and the Sox bullpen didn't choke. But he didn't and he's searching for 200, a record that shows you just how elusive it is over the history of MLB. Otherwise, some 5,000 guys would have recorded 200 wins.
