Yes, but Ciriaco miraculously is playing SS and Podsednik gets a start too...2 out of 3 ain't bad...Punto starting though...LMFAO..but if you want Valentine to be the manager of this motley crew then so be it. He's yet to put out a good lineup now for about a week. -

Aviles can't play 3B? Seriously, Valentine needs to go. -

At this point I would bring up Iggy at SS and play Ciriaco at 3B if he can handle it so we can judge them both on a daily basis. Punto, Valencia and Aviles won't help this club down the stretch and LaRoche has been stuck in neutral for years. Like placing Lav and Salty side by side lets give everyone an equal shot to fight for our weak positions at SS and C. -

I think sitting Aviles is actually a good move. He has been killing us lately. Not just his lack of hitting, but lack of hitting in key situations of the last few games.
I guess Ellsubury at DH is the same as giving him a night off so I can see that move. You keep his speed and bat in the game while sort of resting him.
Punto at 3B......maybe Valencia would have been a better move. The jury is still out on him as he really hasnt done anything yet. I am still saying they should bring up Laroche to play some 3B. The guy has been hitting and has played at the big league level. -

Aviles has not been doing much. Nor has Valencia. Punto at third against a tough righty is not out of the question. He is a better hitter than he has shown. ( Not saying much , I know ) He swung the bat decently last night. Let's not start nit picking every little thing. -

no, let's settle for the rest of the season to continue as planned. Don't try to change it. Don't fire BV and please make sure you never DFA Punto. -

I agree DC. Maybe upper management wants to lose, maybe they want a top 5 pk in next season's draft cause that's where they're headed. -

The way Valentine is managing, you almost feel like it's the 1919 ChiSox except this time it's the manager throwing the games. -

Few writers in baseball ever criticize the manager for their daily lineups. It's never addressed in columns. Sitting guys who should play, playing guys who shouldn't, and playing guys at positions that others sitting should be playing. Ciriaco not being at SS the past month as an every day SS is a crime in itself. -

Posted by SOXNVANo, the jury has decided he has mastered the short fly to left or left-center. The only thing that hasn't been consistent is if the outfielder beats the shortstop to the fly ball, or vice versa.Aviles hasn't even been able to catch up to 91 mph fastballs over the middle of the plate lately. -
