I love Ellsbury. Its a shame he has been injured for 2 seasons and I agree that we should let him go after the season or trade him at the deadline.

I am optimistic that Jacoby Ellsbury will be healthy enough to play in the final regular-season game.
Of course under the MLB Collective Bargaining Agreement, player with at least six years of MLB service does not become a free agent until 9 a.m. EDT the day after the start of the last game of the World Series.* If the 2013 Series goes seven games, the final game will be played on October 31, meaning a player such as Ellsbury would not become a free agent until the morning of November 1.

October, 2014. Ellsbury will get injured again soon, miss most of the season, and settle for a one year arbitration reward to prolong Softlaw's agony.

I'm interested in those reasons.The stats I provided for Chone Figgins did not include his dismal years in Seattle 2010-12, but those stats also did not include his career All Star 6.9 WAR season in 2009 or his solid 2008 season.

Weight, height, not going to the graveyard in Seatle, positions, general athletism, years in the minors... They are extremely different players. -
