I hate to be right about this but this ending was almost inevitable. Seen it happen far too many times.

Tek was in the game because they ran for Salty. I mentioned earlier how these kind of moves can backfire.

I think Theo will be looking for a catcher long before July.  Need defense as well as some consistent production in the 9-hole

a semi mediocre throw has him out at second. A pick off attempt has him out before he steals third...

I watched the game since the 5th inning. The part that kills me is that earlier in the game we get 1st and 2nd nobody out with Youkillis up. Why doesn't Francona have Youk bunting to get 2nd and 3rd with one out. He fielders choice the runner at 2nd base. I knew Bog Papi was going to bounce into a DP. FRancona has to bunt once in a while. The close games with him are killlers and thats where he does not manage well. Still waiting to see this team make it to .500.

On two plays when everyone in the park knew Rajaii Davis a career .165 hitter is going to run. The guy cannot do anything else and yet on a pitch out we cannot throw him out. Two clowns as catchers. Varitek could not throw out a 80 year old woman and the other guy is as good a catching prospect as was Andy Marte is a power hitting 3rd baseman. The Atlanta Braves never ever give up good prospects.

Theo please spend some money and sign Molina already. The one catching guy who I thought was a good hitter at Fenway and had a descent arm was Mike Napoli and yet we had no interest in the guy. Pi## poor planning on Theos part.

Other than 2010 AL Rookie of the Year Neftali Feliz, 2009 AL Rookie of the Year runner-up Elvis Andrus and 25-year-old lefthander Matt Harrison ... all in the package that included Jarrod Saltalamacchia.

Re: Tuesday Game Thread: Red Sox at Blue Jays

Every year for the last 3-4 years there is a free agent catcher who hits .220 who can throw out base stealers on the market and every year we go back to the washed up Varitek.

The disregard in addressing the SBs over the last few years is disgusting inexcusable.
