    Umpire fired

Brian Runge fired for failing drug test.  If a 14 yr veteran 3rd generation umpire can get sacked, the players should face same fate.  Clean it up MLB.

Geez why would an umpire take drugs?  It's not like it helped improve his game-calling skills.  LOL

Angel Hernandez should be fired too for screwing up the Tiger's pitcher's perfect game.   LOL

Now I know why there has been so many bad calls in baseball.

Sad.  Umpires no doubt have a lot of stress, but there has to be something else going on here.  I entirely agree that, if umpires can be dumped, players should be too.

Umpire Jim Joyce blew the call that cost Detroit pitcher Armando Galarraga a perfect game in 2010:

Drug use is found in every line of work ... cocaine use reportedly was widespread among MLB players in the 1980s, but has declined with drug testing and its corresponding decline in society as a whole.

The Most commonly abused drugs are prescription pain killers.  The dude could of had a nagging injury that lead to a dependency.  It doesn't mean he's shooting heroine in some skidrow alley or hitting a crack pipe before games.

What drug does an umpire need????? Maybe it was Prilosec or Zantac? Let's not get into Viagra or Cialis.

yeah, it's not like he really needs an excuse.  If you had given me $200k at an early enough age, you'd have had to take turns peeling me out of the gutter or off of the ceiling.
