[QUOTE]Calling all Carl Crawford supportors - - - how is his "bounce back" year going so far????? Say what you want about Vernon Wells but he's healthy and has 3 or 4 HR's already......

Vernon Wells hasa BA of .257 and an OBP of .306 since 2006.  And during that time, has gone from average OF to very poor.

One bad year of Crawford has sent you into a vindictive tailspin from which you will never recover.  And that was a year that may have been slowed by injuries, something Vernon Wells has not had happen.   He's just been BAD. So if you cannot handle one bad season from Crawford, why do you possibly think you could handle 5 bad seasons from Vernon Wells?

Oh, and he makes more money per year than Crawford.

Good ole andy really is off the deep end isn't he. Is he actually saying that Vernon Wells is having a good year because he has three (not four) home runs. I guess we can ignore the .222 BA, the .234 OBP, the measley six RBIs.

Whooppee -- Wells is on pace to hit 18 home runs with 36 RBIs. Just put him in the Hall of Fame now and get it over with.

[QUOTE]here's my opinion; crawful is scared to death to play in boston. he's more comfortable playing in a small market. thanks to theo, sending the bum to a small market is no longer possible. in fact, with his bloated salary, sending him anywhere is not possible. thanks again inepstein.

Seriously, who is the self-important media scribe who started this "can't play in a large market" BS?   And why do fans buy into it?  Is it because, like the media, they have to think they are as important to the team as the players?

Also, Vernon Wells OBP (.234) is actually lower than his weight so far in 2012.  That is an honor that was usually only reserved for most pitchers and Benji Molina.

Though to be fair to Molina, he had to be pushing about 350 pounds, and most hitters had their OBP below his weight...

It only took Vernon ... 3 or 4 seasons to get healthy.  Give Carl some time.

I cannot fathom for the life of me why they waited so long to have the surgery.

No, not happy things have worked this way, but still not sure about how always harping on it makes it better ....
