Dodgers GM Ned Colletti said Tuesday that he believes Carl Crawford (elbow) will be ready for Opening Day.
Crawford has finally progressed to live game action, even picking up a pair of hits and an RBI in Monday's tilt with the Diamondbacks. He still hasn't manned his position defensively, which is a hurdle that will need to be climbed before he's cleared for Opening Day. But given Colletti's optimism, it appears Crawford might avoid the disabled list after allRe: Updates on guys some wanted

I hope LA times be nice to Crawford if they want him to play well.

Dodgers could have more combined salary on 2-man DL (Greinke and Ramirez, $32.5m) than Astros on 25-man roster.

Well said. Would have been a great guy to take a flyer on, should have approached M's before they designated Carp. M's have enough DH/1B types might have gotten on the cheap, could have been alot of possible upside. Would hve been like the old days when we picked up the likes of Ortiz, Mueller, Bellhorn, and Millar that no one thought was a big deal at the time.

I made at least 3 thresds sbout Smoak. Snother top tsrget I repeatedly suggested was Rick Porcello (snd to my surprise, many agreed). Porcello has a 2.50ERA and a 0.778WHIP so far this spring
Unlike Hernamdez and Goldschmidt, both Smoak and Porcello were reportedavailable this off-season...vai

He skipped AAA ball and walked right into the major league from AA.
