Well it couldn't be any worse than it is now.  Wakefield at least could be eating up innings so we don't have to have our outfielders pitching for us.

I'm all for coaxing Wake out of retirement.  Lets go get him his 192 R.S. victories...

It was time for them to go. They had a nice run, but it is over. They were part of the problem last September , and they would be part of the problem now. Now it's time to go with youth.

So we could complain about another poor hitting C and a pitcher constantly giving up 5+ runs, yeah that would have been a great idea. Not to mention it would take roster spots from rookie kids like Doubrant and Middlebrooks.

Was it a mistake to let two players with zero MLB market value leave. Nice, the way you put out a fire is to pay millions per gallon for old watered down gas!

That's it.  They need a Captain.  They need someone with a "C" on their jersey.

Were they on the team in the last two years at the same time the team didnt make into the playoff in the last two years?

Come on, stop looking at the past.

Sound like we should say, should we bring back Mike Lowell, Manny Rameriz, Alex Gonzelez, etc!!

You're right. We should continue use the worst defensive catcher in the league along with the pitcher with the highest ERA amongst starters with 5 or more starts.
Rosetta Stone is on sale, BTW.

I liked both of them a lot, but the FO and they both made the right decision.  Please note that neither player was picked up by another team.

I will even concede that right now Tek would probably be more effective than Salty, but the point is the organization had to let him go and find a new solution.  Lavarnway is almost ready to move up for good even though he hasn't caught a lot of games at any level.

    Yup.

    This would solve everything.

By the way, weren't these two on the team last September?

    How'd that work out?

Not sure why you think Tek would be blocking Middlebrooks.  Can Tek play 3rd?  Tek woudl have prevented the signing of Shoppach, which would have likely been an offensive downgrade thus far.

Thought you were talking about Beltre and VMart not Wakefield and Varitek.
