Thats because Lucky Larry Luchinno takes Red Sox fans for idiots and lies to them. He can do that because Fenway is sold out everynight and Red Sox Fans will keep coming back no matter how bad the team is. -

Yes......let's hold onto those "prize" prospects......this team has needed pitching for the first half and now moving into 3/4's of the year..and Ben can't make one pitching move other than a reliever and moving Morales back into the rotation?

why do you think the redsox are in the position they are now?? they traded away good prospects for expensive vets and signed high priced free agents, now they have no payroll flexibility and underperforming high priced guys and you want them to do it again??? grow a brain before you post please -

and what good prospects did they trade away for Lackey? Crawford ?......they signed those guys to bloated contracts ..and I disagreed with that....I didn't think they should have. No need to make personal attacks because you disagree with my post. You didn't fully read it anyway. -

Exactly, until that changes & they start seeing empty seats in the stands ownership will show no urgency in making any changes. They need to start getting hit in the pocket book where it counts before they will do anything. -

How exactly would Masterson have helped this team out again?
Do you like his 4.47 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, mediocre strikeout rate, and 1.86 K/BB ratio?
I swear, some people fall in love with players just because they aren't on the team. -

you completely miss the point, getting Masterson would require giving up a good prospect, given that Ellsbury could leave after next year and that their starting rotation is sub par the sox didnt want to give up those particular prospects, Ben is probably going back to what made the sox successful in the mid 2000's not doing what theo did the last 2 years. if they could have gotten masterson for Nava and Ross or something they would have done it but the Indians i'm sure value a 27 year old that had a 3.26 era last year and is relatively cheap right now. -

And Anderson was never going to play for Boston anyway with Gonzo signed for 6 more years.

I wonder how many offers for Lars Theo turned down in the past. Masterson simply is not that good, not an improvment.
