Webster looks like the 3 or 4th best option, moonshemp, in AA ball.

He was awful.  Hopefully, he will be sent back down to the minor leagues soon if it hasn't happened already.

Since softy was against signing Dempster, and all his suggested FA signings signed for more than his offer, his statement that "if we could not get a FA, we could fill the 5 slot from within the system" meant Webster.

It was one of the few views we shared this past winter, but the difference is, I admit it- he does not.

Webster has already been optioned to AAA.

Jose de la Torre has been recalled.  Doubront will reurn to the rotation for now.

No idea what countermove was made to get de la Torre on to the 40 man roster...

    Re:

Webster has 5 starts above AA, He still needs work. Its normal for someone at his stage in his career to have a couple good showings, that a couple terrible ones. He'llbe fine, but in no way should be a FT starter in MLB right now.

Tazawa, although came in as a starter, is best served in the pen. With no prove of what he would be like as a starter theres no way to put him on a list of them. He hasnt started since 2009 I believe. Id be worried about who can close. Might not be Taz.

Doubront is the big concern here. 88MPH FB from a 94MPH FB? No efficiency whatsoever.

our 1-2-3 have been solid so far and Lackey had a decnt showing in his 1st full game, but hes going to have work back a few games to get into a groove.

    Re:

Doubront wasn't any better - Franklin Morales made his first rehab start at AA yesterday; he may be the answer to the weak link in the rotation.
