In Response to Re: Wednesday Afternoon Game Thread: Red Sox at Orioles : But that's the mystery. Remember in 08/09 when he was doing that and was so awful they sent him down? He got that straightened out, and was one of the best pitchers in baseball in 10. So what did he un-learn since last year? Is he still favoring his back? Afraid of re-injury? What? He just seems to have lost a lot of his confidence. That's why I think a stint in AAA would help him sort things out.

agree he gained confidence in AAA. not sure he can be sent back.... anyone know??

youve made that abundantly clear Andrew. He had one bad year, granted. lets give the kid a chance to come back and redeem himself. I'm not so sure his wrist wasnt an issue last year.

Ortiz not running hard on his ground ball in the 3rd probably cost us a run. Maybe more hustle and less ranting would be in order.

In Response to Re: Wednesday Afternoon Game Thread: Red Sox at Orioles : No, but surely it won't  be much longer for that cut to heal. Question is, will he amount to anything when he gets back in there? He's a stop gap at best IMO, I wouldn't count on him for much more. Dice K has more potentian to help, but there are the constant nagging injuries that keep us from seeing what he can do. Meanwhile, good grief, Bard is all over the place. Good thing they got the pick off.

You mean the "CONSTANT NAGGING INJURY he sustained pushing himself to the ultimate limit to win for HIS TEAM in the wbc???

The injury he lied about, & tried to pass it off as a ST injury???

    That "nagging injury?"

Wow, that was poor baserunning.  Youk looked like he was stopping at third.

Is that Tim Bogar back out there again. Good grief, no way he should be sent there. I'm sitting a thousand miles away and was saying "no, he's gonna be out."

With all of our injuries and our weakest link is a healthy able bodied 3rd base coach!   LOL

He has a certain calmness and coolness up there that is (forgive me RSN) almost Jeterian.

That wasn't on Royster.  Youk wasn't looking at him.  Would have been safe if he didn;t pull up on his own.

In Response to Re: Wednesday Afternoon Game Thread: Red Sox at Orioles : While he MAY be able to hit better I just don't see how his fielding will all of a sudden come around......Hence, he's the Original Butcher.  Put him and Pods in that OF together with perhaps Bird and look out baby!!!

Fenways LF is not hard to play, ONCE you learn the wall. think last year was a learning curve after center in the trop. think it may have just been an off year all the way around. he admitted he was putting too much pressure on himself. Boston and a big contract will do that. anyways, he accepted blame, apologized and think he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

He probably had enough sense to know he wasn't going to make it before being told "you will charge those guns and take that ridge" by Royster. But even if he didn't slow down I think he's out. Bard with a 4 pitch walk to start the inning after his team pulls his fat out of the fire. Will it ever end?
