Why do we keep pinch hitting for Sweeney with McDonald? Maybe it will be different this time, but it hasn't worked yet. Nope.....same old.

I've got to say that I'm worried about the O's coming to town next.  We'd better snap out of our collective anemia or we could be heading to K.C. in another deep hole.

A year ago, they'd have put Gonzo on and pitched to Papi.

Once the A's scored their second run, from that moment this game was over. Very sad. This hitting is as pathetic as I've ever seen it. Just like the stretches we saw last year, nothing has changed. Win 6, lose 3 out of 4. Not what a championship team does. Gonzalez fails again in the clutch.

You just can't have your starters give up 3, 4, 5 early runs to POOR hitting teams!  Good hitting teams either!

I think that poster who said we are going to be 81-81 is right the more I see this team. To streaky one night they score 11the next just 3. The offense goes morgue cold too quickly. These are give me games. The As are not a great tea m. How do you loose 2 of 3 to them.

We just lost a HOME series to the OAKLAND A's.

    Yes, the A's.

No evidence of an offense. Yet, Dave Magadan is a the greatest hitting coach ever.

After all, he coached Carl Crawford ALL last season. Magic.

    68 wins, here we come.

    Joe Briedy - discuss.

Re: Wednesday Game Thread: Athletics vs. Red Sox

I am beginning to think AGon is overrated. No leadership skills and too long with a losing team like the Padres. He had a chip on his shoulder too last year. Complained about late games, Sunday night games and getting into the hotels late at night. The Red Sox could have hung unto all their rookies and spent the money on Prince Fielder this year. When Reddick has more home runs than Gonzalez at this point, that is pretty sad.
