Does anyone know if MLB requires that a trade acquistion like Bedard must be activated as soon as he reports?  I wondered why they did not wait until tomorrow to activate him.  Playing a man short the last two nights as result.  Maybe there is a rule to cover a situation like this?

I think the Sample size is large enough to realize it's time to get someone up.

In Response to Re: Wednesday's Game Thread:Indians at Red Sox : I know it's hard for some to shake the pre 2004 gloomy outlook that so many of us put up with throughout our respective lifetimes.  I've been watching these guys since the late fifties when my dad took me to my first game at Fenway.  I understand the culture of expected failure.  I lived it and breathed it.  But I, like you, appreciate what we have here, an outstanding team that will be in it to the end.  Yes, they will lose games that we think they should win, and they will p!ss us off from time to time.  And that's okay.  Being a fan encompasses all emotions.  But to react with endless name calling and bashing of players or management (or fellow fans) is just silly to me.   To say we have no chance of winning a game because we're down in the early innings is just plain short sighted.  Sometimes the ignore button is my favorite feature here.   I totally appreciate your attempts at trying to quell the negativity when it arises.

My first game at Fenway was 1976 and I remember it like it was yesterday.  I'll giving my sons that experience this month!  Can't wait.  When the Sox lose, my son says "don't worry, there is a game tomorrow".  And he is right.

Thats the issue with Wakefield, before you know it he gives up two runs. The offense has to keep scoring with him in there.

Wow, did anyone think that third run would not score? Great job to get out of it with just the two runs.

He is not consistent enough to be a number #3 starter and neither is Lackey. This team has to hope they catch lightning in a bottle with Eric Bedard or get Clay Bucholtz back in the end of September.

I was honestly expecting 4 there joel.  Thing is Tim usually doesn't get better as the game goes on.  So I won't be shocked to see more runs as Terry tries hard to get him through 5.

Of course I'm hoping he can rebound and blank them for a few more innings.
