OK Ben.... What are you going to do with Aaron Cook today ?????   Be brave son, do a "BLOCKBUSTER" and make room for Middlebrooks & Lavarnway too !!!!!

My thoughts exactly Bill. My guess he will be traded unless he is willing to work out of then pen, because there is no way he is going to replace Buch, Bard or Doubrount in the rotation. Too much invested in those guys.
If they do trade him, I hope they get some good relief pitching, or a utility IF better than Punto.

Bobby V said Cook will be throwing in the pen if he's being called up.  Can Cook still opt out and elect FA even though he made the 25 men?

Cook can only opt out if he's not added to the 25 man roster today.  He has no control over how he is used.

Suspect that the Sox are trying to get something for him since having him as a temp hire for a couple of weeks pending the return of Dice K is probably not a viable option for either the team nor the player.  Sox owe their former GM for the free gift of Byrd and owe the Padres for giving them garbage for Gonzalez.  Cook would probably be a good fit with either the Cubs or Padres as a bottom of the rotation guy.  Don't be surprised if some sort of deal is worked out with one of those two teams.

What about Iggy, Bill?  Or have you jumped off that bandwagon until the next time he gets on base?

Cook is not on the 40 man roster. So they will probably have to Designate someone for assignment or move someone from the 15 day disabled list to the 60 day or make a trade.

Tazawa and Anderson I don't think will get Balfour--possibly remove Anderson and add Brentz.

Ciriaco is hitting in the .300 neighborhood; would you try to move Punto and add Ciriaco?
