Coco would demand Timmy Lupus salary, and rightfully so

I'd love Coco as my #4 OF and platoon w/ Timmy but he would want to start plus any little $ we have left must go to pitching

Re: What about trying to get CoCo back?

Red Sox need a long term starting young RH slugging OF'er. That said, Crisp will get a starter gig, after leading AL in steals in his latter career days. Crisp is a winner, dives for balls and hits walls instead of playing for a contract. The last Red Sox team to win AL East was Crisp, starting in CF. He will get a starter gig and is a much better fit in NL, though a lower budget AL team might find value in a 2 year lower base contract.

Re: What about trying to get CoCo back?

Red Sox have Kalish and a host of other capable LH Of options at near zero cost. This will be the last opportunity to deal Ellsbury from a position of strength. Cherry strikes me as the kind of guy who makes decisions based player popularity, much like InEpstein. This is the signature of a terrible GM. Though if Varitek and Wastefield are a 2012 problem cost for another team, that will be a small improvement.

Arm is too weak to be a full time RF.

Yes, let's get worse before we get better! Although given Charleton's moves so far, it's no out of the realm of possibility.

Nothing against Crisp, but think Sox need to fill platoon/4th outfielder with a RH bat with a little power.

    Who is Timmy Lupus?

BTW, here is one of those real life hints that I occasionally give.  You can't simply make up nicknames for people that make no sense, and expect others to understand what you are talking about.

Nope, you're in the right place Joe.  I can tell by all the dingalings that want to judge Cherington after 2 months on the job with a limited budget to work with.

32 years old, still young, lotts of stolen-bases. However it takes him 3 years to equal the numbers Elles puts up in 1.

$14 million two year deal to stay with the A's.

I don't ever remember CoCO being a guy that the Red Sox leaned on for anything.  He would make a sensational catch in CF once in awhile.

Coco had one of the greatest AB's I have ever seen in G5 of the 08 ALCS.......

Covered a lot of ground for us

    Stole bases

He just didn't get on base enough....unless of course you compare him to Timmy Lupus.  If you compare Coco to Lupus, Lupus makes Coco look like Wade Boggs......

"Swenney" will not do a better job. A dime a dozen for this kind of garbage.
