Maybe it says that Bogie isn't ready to hit major league pitching; of course, half the SOX team isn't ready to hit ML pitching.

No, my moniker comes from the talented member of the Bogie family----Humphrey Bogart.

It says that maybe he is not very good at overcoming adversity and change. Good to great players can hit regardless of where they are playing. If changing a players position made that much of a difference then I guess Holt, who has played multiple positions this year, should be batting under 100. This talk about how moving Bogie to 3rd has ruined his hitting just doesn't hold any water.

It means people are paying too much attention to his position splits, imbaalanced as they are (he has over twice as many PA as a SS than as a 3b), and not enough to his far more-telling home-road splits (.807 OPS at Fenway. .616 on the road).

People are different. Holt is full of confidence, and maybe Bogaerts isn't. I'm not making excuses, because he should be able to hit no matter what the circumstances. But maybe he's struggling to get his confidence back.

Doesn't matter what the situation was when he got moved, but it did look like the Sox lost confidence in him at SS, and it probably felt that way, too. Plus, the Sox never said a word about it -- what's the long-term plan for this guy? Do they care? Doesn't seem like it.

He's been a baseball stud all his life, no doubt. Maybe this is the first time he's failed at something and he's taking it hard. Hope he can get past it.

One game announcer (Ecks?) was willing to attribute it to getting moved off of position and not getting a chance to settle. But it seems that XB has been making some good plays at third to me.

I'm not sure what position Bogy fits into our lineup long term but I'm pretty sure its not SS, possibly 3B or even the OF like Betts at some point but he's a keeper.  JBJ maybe not so much, what's the difference between the two that leads me to say this?  Just a hunch that Bogy will improve and JBJ may not.

I think he is a keeper but only at short.  Once Ortiz starts playing first, Xander's low throws are going to be an issue.  Ortiz cannot stretch like Nap.
