    What exactly is allowed.......

    when arguing with an umpire?

Of course anything said you need to be careful for the simple reason that the same umpire will be umpiring more of your games through out the season.  If you get too brash, you for sure will be seeing more close calls go against you.

But, if you wanted,  would you be allowed to get personal when arguing?   Call him blind?  Say if the umpire is very large, can you call him a fat ****.   Maybe say something about his wife?  Anything to get him upset since he just got you upset by making a bad call.

Or does the yelling have to remain strictly baseball stuff like "how did you miss that call", other wise you for sure would get a suspension.

Just wondering for anyone who may know.

It all depends on the umpire, the mood he is in, the situation, etc...For example, Lenny Dykstra went ballistic on an umpire early on during a game that was being played in 100+ degree heat in hope that he would get thrown out. The umpire said," I don't care what you say to me Lenny, if I have to work out here all day in this heat, so do you."

The universal "magic word" you say to an umpire that gets you thrown out of a game....not a 4 letter word, but three, YOU. It personalizes the dispute with YOU the umpire and not the call.
