Just a thought.. But why not try this lineup:
Scuturo
Crawford
Pedroia
Gonzales
Youklis
Ortiz
Drew
Salty/Tek
Ellsbury -

This team has no confidence and Tito needs to give them a lick in the $$s. ZThery are digging themselves a grave so deep that they will get the bends trying to come out. -

In Response to What is gonna take for Francona to get a clue about:batting Crawford lead off is one of the most obvious things that is killing this team right now. Everybody needs to swallow a little pride and drop him to number 9 till he figures things out. Put Ellsbury back at lead off, it could not be any worse.

Yeah, but it could be just as bad...... -

"The most obvious thing?" The team ERA is 7.18. The pitchers have given up 21 home runs in 11 games. Five every-day players are hitting less than .200.
Crawford is a problem, to be sure, but in no way is he "the most obvious thing" that's killing the team. That's a long, long list right now. -

Let's look at what 42 million smakers has bought for Henry & co. Batting-Crawford -a sorry meager .152 Youkillis -a whopping.182 Cameron-a mind boggling sky high .091(what a waste)Ellsbury-a fantastic,incredible.189 McDonald-a fabulous, wonderful absurd.125 Scutaro-a precarious, cliff hanger,dangerous.172.There you have a nucleus of a championship team.Where is the other Adrian when we need him. He is better than the one we have now. This great wonderful team got a whopping 5 hits today which is status Quo.They all suck and stink worse than an out house! ! ! -

Crawford is not alone. The entire outfield can't hit these days, ditto both catchers and Scutaro. So there are about five positions that all need to bat 9th.
And, of course, the starting pitching remains suspect.
I like the idea of Ellsbury leading off, but he has also been striking out a lot this year. -

It already is worse.Ellsbury went down swinging against a mediocre pitcher. I never have and never will be a fan of Ellsbury! ! ! ! -

TO M1A2...YOU NAILED IT PERFECTLY. THERE IS NOCOMPLAINT AGAINST THE ACQUISITION OF AGONAND CRAWFORD...BUT THE TEAM BASICALLY HASLITTLE TO ADD THEM TO. YES...THERE IS DUSTIN,A GREAT LITTLE PLAYER AND PAPI. BUT THEN, YOUHAVE NO CATCHER, A MOPE LIKE DREW, NO REALBENCH, A PSEUDO CENTERFIELDER...ELLSBURY,WHO HAS WORN OUT HIS WELCOME, AND NO #4 OR#5 PITCHER. WHY IS WAKE ON THIS TEAM ??AGAIN...I COMMEND YOU M1A2 FOR HONESTY,I SAY THE SAME THINGS AND GET CALLED A TROLL . -

Hey, nothing could be any worse than the way it's been. I swear, if I were Tito, I'd do the Billy Martin trick and draw names from a hat. -

And this outfield is costing Henry & Co. 42 mil THIS YEAR. -

Yup and it was pitching last year that killed us.
And what did Theo do to improve the rotation? He gave an OF 143 million dollar deal and traded his best pitching prospect for a 1B-man (when we already have the best 1B-man in the league). Bloody Brilliant. -

When a team spends a ton of money in the off season, especially with big name people involved, the tendency is to pencil in 100 wins and assume all is great. Henry overpaid for guys and left some basic holes which surface in a long season. We lost Martinez and Beltre, two positions which are now worse. But the lineup issues are always debateable and time may prove him right. However, not upgrading, and especially not adding depth, to a marginal pitching staff is the big sin here. It will take more outings like Beckitt's to keep the team afloat. -

Never goona happen with him too much of a players boy. That is the main reason the team is last in the ML.

Might I suggest you take a good look at the batting statistics? Other than Pedy and AGON, everyone else is hitting poorly. Youk's OBP is good thanks to BB's, but when all but 2 hitters in a nine hitter lineup are batting 185 or lower it don't really make much of a difference where you bat them. What's frustrating is, that on the too rare occasions our starting pitching gives us a chance, we don't hit for beans. -
