Re: When can Drew be trade?

No reason not to keep Drew, Middlebrooks and Iggy and play the hot hands.

Right now that would be Iggy and Drew.  Middlebrooks should get a spot start here and there and ride the pine until either Iggy or Drew falter.

Re: When can Drew be trade?

For the guy who said to make Drew a qualifying offer next winter,  are you kidding me?

That would be giving him a contract for $13 M for the 2014 season.

I could only think of doing that if Drew were able to finish this season hitting .330 with 20 HRs and about 90 RBIs.

With that said, I am not sure that I would trade him during the season unless he was bringing back a real top level prospect or another quality pitcher that could help this season.

Iggy will get his share of playing time. They are doing it the right way.

If he plays anywhere less than 50% of the games, it's a crime.

He should get about 35% of the action at SS vs LHPs. The other 20% should come vs RHPs at 3B or SS.

I'm not sure I trust Holt that much, but I suppose he can't be much worse than Ciriaco was this year.

So, trading a player making twicw what he deserves and that should be our back-up SS should only be done if we get a top level prospect or quality pitcher?

    Wow!

I'm all for Iggy over Drew, and even Iggy over to Middlebrooks to a lesser extent, but here are the recent numbers on Drew:

The Russians aren't the only people who look beyond one day..., but in this case, it doesn't matter much.
