Where is Craig Going to Play?

The guy is a butcher in the field.  He sure isn't going to displace Papi at DH.  Naps really shouldn't be playing anywhere other than 1st.  I don't get it.

Re: Where is Craig Going to Play?

Craig can play LF in a park like Fenway, with Cespedes playing CF and JBJ playing RF.

He can play RF in a park like Yankee stadium with JBJ in CF and Cespedes in LF.

He can also allow Napoli to DH and rest himself and Papi like 30 games a year and play some 1B. Basically he can play the role Nava and Carp combined to play and WAY better than those two. In 2013 those two had like 750 AB's. In 2014 through 2/3 of the season in is like 310 (so maybe 450) split the difference and you pretty much have a 600 AB 135 game full-time player.

    correct

with Brock Holt and Mookie Betts anchoring the bench with tons of versatility

the big issue w/ this year was WMB was a bust.  So they need a 3rd baseman who can hit.  Maybe go get Beltre back in the next 11 mins!

Re: Where is Craig Going to Play?

Craig will prob hit 7th or 8th, so too far down the lineup to get 600 AB's in 135 games, but the point is he will get the AB's that Nava/Carp provided. Say 500.

Cespedes gets the 550-575 AB's we lost in Ellsbury (when he was healthy)

JBJ gets the 475 or so AB's that Victorino gave us in 2013, playing both CF and RF next year like Shane did that year.

Then a 4th OFer, be it Victorino if he remains here or Holt, provides like 250 AB's.

There is room for all those guys.
