Wow! Any station employing Andy Gresh and Mike Felger shouldn't be number one in anything.
I don't get putting the very bright Michael Holly on The Big Show, getting rid of Dale Arnold, and putting Lou "Theo is God" Merloni on in the mid day with the boring Mutt Monanski (sp?).
When the new station started to catch up, it looks like EEI panicked, and shuffled the lineup, with horrid results.
Also, the inbecilic Mikey Adams, remarkably not only keeps his job, but gets more air time to spew his uninformed nonsense.
    Bring back Pete Shepard.

D & O spend way to much time talking about anything other than sports. I do like Meter.

I like Merloni and Mutt okay (barely) but thought that Mutt and Holly went best together. Thrilled Dale Arnold isn't around as much.

Big O is terrible, and Holly does not fit with him.

Planet Mikey, he is a great example of how in the heck did he get this job.

I guess when you sit back and look at it .. WEEI is not very good.

Mikey is great if you take him for what he is. Between all the talent WEEI has Holly, Buch, McAdams, Mawxwell they should be blowing Sports Hub way. Callahan and Ordway need to go.

I love listening to 98.5 during the morning commute.  Their bits are so funny.

The noon time show and the DA show on 98.5 are weak.

Maz on the baseball writers show is so-so.  He should be left alone to talk to himself.  Plus, he uses too many stats to make a point.

WEEI in the morning is a disgrace.  The Big O show is terrible - half the people he has on seem inarticulate, they even make fun of that fact that no one can understand what some of the guys are saying.  And the static.

The broadcasts of the Red Sox Games are first rate.  The play by play is great.

I have an idea - move the Red Sox games to 98.5.  The Red Sox deserve to be on HD Radio.

The Sports Hub basically re-introduced hockey to New England -- I'll take them hands-down in any sport over EEI.

I made the 98.5 switch and now listen to WEEI during commercials.  Thank goodness for options, D&C are like nails on a chalk board way too often.  I agree with Ergotal too, it was great to hear 98.5 talk hockey and I laughed when WEEI set adrift its only legit hockey guys in Dale Arnold and Pete Sheppard.  What a year to ignore hockey fans!  Oops!

Re: Which sports station do you listen to: WEEI or The Sports Hub

I'm in Florida but started recently listening to the various shows on my iPhone or computer to hear talk about Boston sports. (Here in Florida, it's either the Magic or Rays or college, although one show with Marc Daniels will talk a lot UCF, my college, and does a good job on national topics, so I'll listen to him when I'm in my car).

Most of the hosts on both stations get too shrill at times, but I've come to expect that so as long as it doesn't get out of hand, I can deal with it.

I actually don't mind D&C. I like the varied topics even when they go off sports. I've got a wide range of interests anyway, so it suits me.

I do like Mutt and Merloni.

I haven't listend to The Big Show much.

Felger and Mazz are OK, but Felger is perhaps the worst offender for getting too shrill, which ticks me off more when I agree with him. Mazz too can get over the top.

At night, I've only listened to DA once or twice. Since I've gotten the various apps for my phone, I've been turning on the game.

My favorite national show is the Tony Bruno Show. He does a great job. And I know this will tick off the ESPN-haters, but I do like the Mike and Mike Show. Depending on my mood, I'll turn them on instead of D&C. And Dan Patrick does a good job too.

The absolute worst national guy is Jim Rome.

Those two non-sports dweebs on a sports station morning drive show, really stink.
Then there's the two frat boys Gresh and Zo,
Followed by the screaming old woman, Tony "Mancrush
    Maz and that creep Felger.
The night time guy David Amedolara, is way better than Planet Nitwit.

I get to listen to WEEI on stream in Asia, normally I am on for the Mutt&Merloni show. I like their energy. Still think Holly and Mutt would have been perfect.

What they really need to do is get rid of the Big O... I doubt D&C will go away too soon.

I liked in the older days when Felger would sub at WEEI with Greg Dickerson... Greg was all too easy to pick on, often making fun of himself.

WEEI forever. The reason D & C are so successful is because they are both totally out of their fkn minds! lol.....since I'm up at the crack of dawn I get to watch a little NESN daily until 6:00 am and get to laugh my azz off at those two. last week Kathryn Tappen filled in for Callahan. Good Gawd what a living doll she is. Plus, it was all about the Brooooons which was really cool.

In all honest, I thought the best combination recently was Bob Ryan and Kathryn Tappen. Agree or disagree with him, Ryan still is normally well-reasoned with his opinions, knowledgeable about a wide-range of sports/subjects and rarely, if ever, goes over the top with his opinions like most talk-show hosts feel the need to do (hello Felger).

And Tappan is perfect -- gorgeous, articulate, smart, funny, did I say gorgeous and smart. There's nothing like a smart, sexy woman who knows sports.

Hey Bill! you may also include me as well...........

and Roy! totally spot on man! I was to preocupied with Kathryn and forgot to mention Bob Ryan who is exactly who you say he is.

now how about this for a team while D & C go on vacation. how about Heidi Watney and Kathryn Tappen behind the mic's and kelly malone filling in for meter. they would be on from 6 to 9 and that's when I would leave for work. 9.lol...

If I could find the right job, I'd love to move back to New England. I really should have looked hard back when I graduated college.

I'm in Polk County. I live in Winter Haven and work in Lakeland. DirecTV isn't bad IMO. The Sox games are blacked out but I think that's because you need to buy the MLB package since your not in the viewing area. Because of my schedule, it's not worth it to me right now. (I've got the mlb.com package so I can listen to the games on the radio through my iPhone and occasionally watch the games on my computer when I have time.)

What I've liked about getting NESN is during the hockey season, I was able to watch a ton of games. The live game was blacked out, but I watched the replays, which unlike the Red Sox games, weren't blacked out. Because of my sked, it worked out because I often had commitments at night during the games. So unless I had to get up real early, I'd watch the games.
