    1. Ozzie Guillen

    2. Jason Varitek

    3.  Manny Ramirez

    JUST KIDDING....

    1.  Joe Torre...He is exactly what this team needs; a winner with class and knows how to run a clubhouse without all the distractions.

    2.  Arnie Beyeler...he's shown he can deal with constant changes and still win, and it will basically be the PawSox in Beantowne next season, anyway.

    3.  Sandy Alomar, Jr....They say Lamont was the second choice to Bobby V., but I remember Alomar as being a strong contender last off-season, and his credibility and heritage would serve him well with this team I should think.

Could you imagine Manny managing?  Just the thought of it is very funny.  Although, he could be a very good hitting coach.

    3. Rico Petrocelli

Of course, the dream scenario would be Dennis Boyd. No way we could get him, though.

"There's no crying in Baseballl!?!"   My new #1 choice...Jimmy Dugan!

susan250, if Manny could loosen these guys up and teach them to wait for their pitch like he did, he'd be a great hitting coach (maybe hook them up with his Dominican PEDs connection, too--just kidding!).

Wallach is intriguing.  Just read interviews will start day after tomorrow.  I just hope they don't wait for Farrell.  Hope they have one before WS ends and FA starts.

Still like the idea of Kaat as a pitching coach, or Orel Hersheiser, even David Cone.  Rick Peterson is a name I respect (but then I respected the clown from Oakland that was a huge bust here last year) because he is regarded highly by people who should know a lot more than me.  And if Dave Duncan became available, the Sox would be foolish not to bring him aboard.  Unlike Mazz in his recent article, I think the manager/pitching coach tandem is very important to the success of this team going forward.

Eric Wedge remains under contract with a Seattle team that finished with a better record than the Red Sox with a far, far younger lineup.

My choices for the Red Sox:

    1. Brad Ausmus

    2. Sandy Alomar Jr.

    3. Tim Wallach

Per Rob Bradford, Tim Wallach is the first name on the Sox' interview list.
