Maybe. Good numbers in minors, but faded.

Napoli..... he's gotta be like a career .500 hitter at Fenway.

    Logan Morrison.

OK, so he isn't that good.  But I think at the very least, he would not mind the media scrutiny.  In fact, I think he wants it and would welcome it with open arms.

Also, he actually does have the potential to be good, and also the potential to put Ozzie Guillen into a homicidal rage...

How bout Will middlebrooks?? Move middlebrooks to first and switch Xander bogearts to third. Ive been reading alot that, that's were the sox think Bogearts might fit best.

    And then who plays third?

Not to mention, Middlebrooks is a very good defensive 3B.  It would be harder to replace his glove than his bat.

Please, please, please tell me you did not make this suggestion so that Ciriaco could start at 3B.

    Please...

I suppose there's not enough room on the team for Bobby Valentine and Kevin Youkilis.

swisher should take over at 1st next year. dude is a switch hitter for power, avg and has good speed. always seems to have a smile on his face too. can handle the NY media so the boston media should be no different. hes a perfect fit.

We could sign Montero and put Lavarnway at first.

Miguel Montero signed an extension with the Arizona Diamondbacks through 2017 and Jesus Montero remains under his team's control through the 2017 season as well.

Are you thinking of another Montero?

I like Morneau, who seems finally over his post concussion syndrome.
Good fielder and middle of the order hitter.
He was definitely on the block before July 31st.
I'm not worried about first base. Dime a dozen position.
You don't have to make up all the Gonzalez' production at one position.
Leave Middlebrooks alone. He's great just where he is.

There isn't a Montero available to play first and I'd like to see Lavarnway actually hit Major League pitching or show that he could even handle the position defensively on a Professional level before I commit to him being the starting 1st baseman in 2013.

I was referring to Zeppo Montero - backup catcher for the Sugarland Skeeters.

OK, so much for that idea.  It's not going to be easy to rebuild this team.

The Skeeters dalt Zeppo Montero to the Long Island Ducks (The Branson, Missouri of MLB) 3 weeks ago.  Wake up!

    Possible trade possibilities:

    Morneau
    B Butler
    Cuddyer
    VMart
    Dunn

    In house:
    Gomez
    Travis Shaw
    Salty
    move Lava to 1B?
move Cecchini to 1B (for 2014)?
move Bogaerts to 1B (for 2014)?

move Middlebrooks to 1B and play someone else at 3B. (highly unlikely)

Morneau has been having a solid second half. I would think he would be a good risk (health issues) on the cheap... not sure what he would command for prospects.

We are going to miss AGon reagrdless of who plays first next year.
