    Why not Joe Torre?

As the Sox manager. It would certainly add some intrigue to the Sox Yanks rivalry, not that it needs it...

He has a cushy job in MLB headquarters,I think he's pretty happy there.

The present Sox team needs a disciplinarian...not a grandfather figure.  This is a team filled with individual performers and not team players.

Torre's not coming back on the field.  He's got a good gig.

    True, it would add intrigue.

But as many here say, too late for that.

His MLB job, his style of management, his age ...  l don't think he'd be crazy enough to come here.

But then, he could claim he had the grand slam of BB managers - St. Louis, NYY, LAD, Boston.

How about a manager Francona hasn't beaten in a crucial seven game series?

Forget Torre.  The Sox need a manager the players are a bit intimidated by.  Work out a trade with Toronto for Farrell.

No offense, but Torre was pictured sleeping in the Yankee dugout. Francona has gotten more abuse for less.

    Re: Why not Joe Torre?

I laugh at those suggesting Bud Black based off one thought - he got the most out of Lackluster in CA.  As I said prior to the signing of Lackey, he was not all that good with the Angles. So yes Nic Cafardo lets waste more thoughts on bringing in Bud Black for the sake of Lackey going 15-10 with a 4.00. Great idea!

How does Nic Cafardo hold his job?
