Wibur is right time to move on folks

Sox are headed in a different direction. Shields Masterson or a Cole Hammels trade.

Orville doesn't think it's time to move on. And he's just as Wright as Wilbur.

Masterson is right up the Sox budget alley and everybody has a down year.

    LOL

A dead man does have just about as much chance of writing a good article as Eric Wilbur does.

I think the Red Sox are trying to become what the Braves were doing their 90s run; build from within and be competitive each year. I agree with this to a point. I just think the Sox are not going about it the right way. You need a veteran ace to build around and a big veteran but yet in his prime hitter.

Masterson is one thing and it depends on terms, but Shields? Does it make any more sense to sign a 33 y/o for 3 years than a 30 y/o for 6?

I like Masterson as a reliever, not a starter--and I don't want to pay big money for a middle inning reliever/ long man when we now have Workman and  if he learns a sinker would be Masty for the ML Min.

Hamels as the ANCHOR surrounded by Kelly, RDLR, Webster/ Owens, Ranaudo, maybe Buch as the #6 or go after  a FA starter like Shields or perhaps another guy from our minor league stable.

If Masterson is your #1 SP then your team is in deep trouble
