Think there was a reason Bobby didn't have a ML job for ten years?  Maybe?

I don't think so. If I remember correctly, Kennedy was a players manager deluxe, especially for the veterans. He was canned for among other things being soft on the fundamentals. Bobby V wants the best 25 players regardless of experience, and stresses playing the "right way".

tell ya what! from what I've seen and heard from Bobby V so far, I'm definately a fan. And just thinking out loud, wouldn't it be a hoot if our sox come outta the gate and win 8 or 9 straight games in a row?

    GO SOX!

I think it would be an even bigger hoot if the sawx came out and lost 8 or 9 straight games in a row!!

nothing will be forever, including V. But he is exactly what this team needed after Tito. I also thought Tito was exactly what the Sox needed when he was hired.
I think it is safe to say that the RS management are really smart people and know what they are doing.

    Personally, I don't like him.

He is too opinionated. While this is good for a poster on a sports discussion board, it is a bad characteristic for an MLB manager.

While I don't doubt he knows a thing or two about how to play the game, his big mouth gets in the way.

I'd like him so much better if he would manage and shut up about whether the Yankees practice a certain play or not.

He talks like he's Sparky Anderson, but his managerial record says different. He has one pennant to his credit in 15 years of managing....big deal!

"Wonderment" is not in Bobby V's vocabulary...
