    Will Lawrie be plunked today?

Although humble with his words in the post-game interview, I did not enjoy watching Lawrie boast around the bases. Sosa-esque hop, tongue out, and a moonshot landing on home plate (didn't he see what happened to Kendry Morales). Have some humility, act like you've been there before. Would not be surprised to see him thrown at or buzzed up and in early on.

Brett Lawrie is a 21-year-old rookie ... Tim Wakefield was pitching professionally when Lawrie was born.

You shouldn't celebrate a walk off homer, otherwise you wil look like a pompous jerk.

RS (and just about every other team) do this all the time on walkoffs - hypocrit.

It's OK to be happy when you are 21 and hit a walkoff HR.

Of course Lawrie is going to get drilled, that's the Sox game.

I don't see everyone in Boston getting worked upo everytime Ortiz parades around the bases and admires his shots. At least this kid hasn't been caught cheating yet lol

Plus Papi rounds the bases slower than a Macy's parade float in the Thanksgiving Day parade.

Re: Will Lawrie be plunked today?

Probably, but only because of control issues. I base this on the fact that more opposing hitters have been hit by Sox pitchers than any other team in the league.

I highly doubt there will be an intentional HBP when the next game is played.

If its up to Lackey, he'd say "only hit him if the game is close tonight and he is leading off an inning as the tying or winning run" (see Lackey v.Cervelli 9/1/11).

IF you want to deck a guy, you have to pick your spot!!!

Perhaps Brett Lawrie was celebrating getting out from under his older sister's shadow:

No plunking, please.  A huge thrill for the rookie on a team that won't make the playoffs.  Let him have his moment in the sun.

I hope they don't hit him, the Sox have to lead the whole league in batters that have been hit or walked, that eventually score.

#RedSox were amused Brett Lawrie had his tongue hanging out as he rounded the bases yesterday. "He'll be here a long time," Ortiz said.
