If not the Sox may have another huge deficit to make up tonight.  With Jon now down things could get pretty ugly.  I hope Theo has some sort of plan because our lineup and starting rotation is beginning to look like last season.

    Another cheap "earned run" tonight.

I know every pitcher has cheap runs and inherited runs allowed after they leave, but Wake has had more than his share. Even putting all that aside, his numbers as a starter are very respectable. I'm sure glad he wasn't dumped like so many posters here called for this spring, last spring, the spring of 2009, 2008, ...

    Spring, summer, fall and winter...

The sad thing is, some still believe we'd have been better off without him.

[QUOTE]Cheap hits aren't 9 hits. His ERA is 4.74 and over 5  since the last half of 2009. Any other pitcher who did that would be long gone. June 25          7 Hits      5 Earned Runs    6 IP 6 days later     11 Hits    5 Earned Runs   5.1 IP 5 days later      9 Hits     3 Earned Runs    7 IP                      27 Hits    13 earned runs    18.1 IP      The only cheap part is that he's getting peppered and smoke and mirrors to give up on 13 earned runs. The false assumption is that Wastefield is a better alternative than young talent. He most certainly is not. He's worse than Aceves or Miller, yet they chose to park this guy on the bench for the first month and change. Get rid of this tired old act and invest the innings in the younger talent!

Look at what Miller did in AAA for the first month and a half. Ifv you still think he'd have done better than Wake and Aceves, then you are a bigger clown than ever.
