I'm hoping our management has been playing a little "smoke & mirror act" with these guys and are resting them for the second half.  I don't see any of the injuries being that serious, they all seem in good spirits and attend every game.

Hopefully they won't be out long!

Beckett and Lester need to get healthy soon. Buchholz can take another couple weeks if needed. After that? Plenty of depth, just not guys you want leading a rotation.

For October?  Lester, Beckett, Buchholz, Miller.  Why do you ask?  There's still 2 and a half months till October.

None of these injuries appear to be serious.  While I'm not ignorant to the fact that they could lead to more serious injuries or they could possibly be symptoms to a larger underlying injury there is no reason to panic just yet.

Start me...I could give 'em about 4 pitches...and then there's plenty of time left to get back in the game...

Hard to say whether beckett/Lester have little naggy injuries that suddenly blow up into serious conditions (*see Buchholz), or whether teh club is just babying them along in the interest of stretch run health.  We shall find out in the next couple weeks.

No need to panic at all right now. Typical kid glove treatment of these guys right now, which makes sense. I of course hope none of the "injuries" are serious.

Right....smoke and mirrors. I sincerely doubt they would risk losing games now to rest them up for later. Dumb post.

Who is risking losing games?  The Sox were 10-1 just before the All Star break.  Not many losses there.

We all have to hope that Lackey can give the Red Sox some quality starts during the 2nd half of the season.  Hopefully, the rest of the starters will be recovered from their various injuries soon.

#1 priority should be the rotation.

Who would have thought that the only person not to spend time on the DL would be Wakefield?

No need to panic?  Buch may or may not come back this season.  Lester may or may not come back this season.  Wake's body hasn't held up for 20 games in a season since when?  Beckett's knee is tweaked and the #5 starter was picked up off the scrap heap.  And then there's Lackey.

    OK, time for a break.

Take a deep breath, and repeat after me:

The Sox are in first place.
    The season has not crumbled.

I fully expect C. Young, our pitching coach, to suit up again and show 'em how it's done.
