World Series championships for last 10 years

Just a little recap, to cheer up those Sox fans who seem to be down these days.

(Note: Yes, I fully realize that many downer fans will not be impacted in the least by this and will tell me to put down the Kool-Aid, the pompoms, the pink hat and the rose-colored glasses LOL)

    Boston Red Sox 3

    St Louis Cardinals 2

    San Francisco Giants 2

    Chicago White Sox 1

    Philadelphia Phillies 1

    New York Yankees 1

Every other team (24 teams) 0, zilch, nada

Some team's fans are always saying, " Wait til next year."  Let's not  become, " Look at last year."  This is right now. Don't rest on your laurels. Go hard for the repeat. We have not been doing that.

The Kansas City Royals have not been to the postseason since 1985.   LOL

Also, didn't the 2006 Cardinals win the World Series with just 83 wins during the regular season?

    Hello jete02fan   Laughing

It's sad that both the Red Sox and Yankees have not faced each other in the postseason since 2004.

I hope both teams face each other this year.   Cool

Bill, there is a lot of truth in your comment. It is not easy for many fans to travel, pay tickets prices, endure the weather & see your team lose. Living on laurels ain't good enough...it's what's can you do for me today that many fans want.

This topic reminds me of one on the Celtics forum as to who was the more relevant franchise with Boston with 17 rings and the Lakers with 16. But Laker fans pointed out that the Celtics won 1 only(2008)  in 28 years since 1986. The Lakers have won 8 since 1985. So the Lakers have been better lately.  Ok, the Red Sox have been better lately too. I am really interested, rather than living on laurels, what we are going to do this year.

Other than Brian McCann I cannot think of one FA we should have signed...

Sizmore offers more than Elles assuming both were to play a full-season...

Xander is an offensive upgrade at short-stop

The pitching staff was virtually set before the FA season even began...

Middlebrooks is the same as last year... nobody knows but we are not worse off becasue we could expect it.

The issues are the revolving door at lead-off, and the manager is the one who should be barked at, and the fact we once again have no true power hitter to bat in-front or behind of Ortiz....

Nava at lead-off is a terrible idea before he even stepped into the box, and Napoli doesn't scare anyone so Ortiz has not true protection. Honestly though Ortiz should be the protection and we need a hitter with more power in front of him - it is the same issue as last year but we won... so uh whatever

    [/QUOTE]

"Sizemore offers more than Ells" and "Xander is an upgrade at SS." I hope you're correct, but I doubt it. Right now Sizemore is an injury about to happen and Bogie is the best player in the league whose 1st name starts with an 'X.'

Let's count the very first World Series when the team name was "Americans".

The organization has 8 World Championships.

but 2004 counts as 21 so really the Sox have 28 championships.  1 more than the yankees.
