Way to go John. And this isn't Tigers vs Sox games either. This right now is a show that the Sox are the better team. Will they win, who knows. But this is a great start. Ensures a game 6 back at home at the minimum.

Don't know if Lester is better today than in the ALDS and ALCS, or the Cards are just not as good as the AL teams.

Lester is dealing here.  If he gets another clean 1-2-3 inning in the 8th, he should be allowed to start 9th for the CG SHO.  But one base runner, and he should be pulled.

He looks pretty strong here so far in the 6th and 7th.

No coming back to Fenway if they can wrap up in St Louis, like back in '04.

Yeah, I know what you mean.  John is dealing today.

Not if Cards win the next four.  Then it ends in game five in St. Louis.  That won't happen but winning game one does not guarantee game six.

No, we still have to win another game for that to happen.

It's little of both. NL teams are a little weak overall.  And they play in a weak division. No one gives that enough credit. AL East outside of Toronto was a dog fight most of the year. The average staff in the East was as good as St. Louis'. I'd let him go, but want him strong for his next start. Do want to burn him out and end up like Kershaw. Even if he didnt pitch on 3 days rest in a previous series.

Yes, winning game 1 doesn't guarantee anything.  Ask Detroit.

Yeah zero guarantees. The cards look overmatched. Could change. Anything can happen. And this is nothing like the Sox struggles against the Tigers.
